New Era, New Trends, New Strategy—Automobile Industry High Quality Development

The much-anticipated 2018 China Auto Forum will be held in Beijing from April 25 to 27, 2018. The theme of the forum is "New Era, New Trends, New Strategy—Automobile Industry High Quality Development ". The forum, a top event for the Chinese automotive industry, is co-organized by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) and CCTV-2(Finance Channel), supported by the Internaitonal Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (OICA) and fully participated by the World Economic Forum (Davos). Since its first convention in 2011, the forum has been successfully held for 7 times, gaining an ever-increasing influence. Focusing on “high-end, pragmatic and efficiency”, the China Auto Forum has become the "Davos" of the auto industry in China, and serves as an important communication platform for world auto leaders, industry elites from home and abroad as well as government officials.

2018 China Auto Forum will become the most-watched event in the auto industry. It is estimated that more than 1500 people will attend this forum.

With the deepening of national economic reform, China's auto industry has entered into the third year of the "13th Five-year Plan" and the action program of Made in China 2025 in 2018. After steady growth and fierce competition in the auto market in 2017, the competition in the auto market will become fiercer in 2018. Chinese brand vehicles are growing stronger and exhibit an upward momentum. After rapid growth in 2015, 2016 and 2017, the new energy vehicles will be tested by the market in the era of post-subsidy in 2018. How to respond to the tougher dual-credit policy that is about to come into force? 2018 will be a crucial transitional year for auto enterprises for they are about to face serious tests. As the internet and auto industry further integrate, smart and connected vehicle will redefine vehicle, making it become a mobile terminal in a broader sense. This in turn will have a significant impact on the manufacturing, investment, transport, sales, finance and insurance sectors, etc., and many cross-industry companies will be born. The emergence of car sharing platform is also shaping customer’s consumption habit. The automotive industry is witnessing tremendous changes from mindset to model. As China has entered into the auto society, with that comes such problems as vehicle safety, environmental protection, energy-saving, traffic congestion, parking, refueling and re-charging of batteries. The whole industry is acutely concerned about how to build a harmonious auto society. 2018 will be a year of changes for China's auto industry.

The forum has been known as a bellwether for the auto industry. As an important communication platform for government authorities and auto enterprises, the forum will watch closely the latest policy developments unveiled by the MIIT, the MOFCOM, the NDRC, the MOST, the MEP, the MOF, the MOT, the AQSIQ and the industry developments in key cities such as Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen. As a core communication platform for the auto industry, the forum will attract a large number of experts and representatives from domestic and foreign auto institutions, multinational companies and enterprises to discuss the latest trends in the industry; and explore the latest industry focuses and hot topics.

As an important event for the auto industry, this forum will be held in conjunction with the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition. Compared with past events, 2018 China Auto Forum has more diverse programs, including closed-door summit, conference forum, keynote speech, panel discussion, salon, on-site smart car experience activity, etc.. To boost interactivity and shed light on key issues, most of the programs have Q&A session among speakers, participants and journalists.

The convention of the forum has gained full support both at home and abroad. We'd like to thank the MOST, the MIIT and CMIF for their guidance; the OICA and the World Economic Forum (Davos) for their full support and participation; friends from home and abroad and the media for their support.
